TRICA
aut potius Tricca, urbs Theslaliae, a Tricca Penei filia dicta. Steph. Plin. l. 3. c. 11. Tricam et Apinam oppida quondam fuisse Apuliae scribit, a Diomede condita, quae eversa in proverbium abiit. Nam Tricae pro nugis; rebusque futilibus accipiuntur, ac etiam pro impedimentis, ut frequenter apud Cicer. Unde tricari, verbum, et tricones, qui nugis alios detinent, et Tricinus quaestus, qui tarde fit, et Tricae Atellanae apud Varron. loc. mox citandô, pro nugis impeditissimis.
